.. a centre half and a striker. And now we've got one - centre half - and two - strikers! What a difference. Nyatanga looked sheer class, the two Hungarians played with so much effort and energy, reminded me of Fjortoft and Ward. They lifted the crowd and the rest of the team too. And a good, composed contribution from McCann in midfield too. I think it's called defending from the front, but their back four were rattled all game. Playing like this, we are in with a chance. Seems ages since I enjoyed a game this much. Ferenzci's reception at the end was as big as anything I've heard at the Well for years. He deserved it, as did the rest of the side.
I had my doubts about a 18 year old CB at this stage of the season BUT on yesterdays performance (and what I heard about Saturday) this guy is years ahead of his age. He seemed to be the one bossing the back four, and Reid should take note.
The front two deserved the reception they got, and glad SD took them off to give them that oppurtunity. (Even Hassell told Ferenczi to walk off not jog so that he could take it all in longer). Both ran there socks off, defended from the front. Both even put a few challenges in.
Other plus points, McCann got more into the game as it went on. Togwell appears to be able to run none stop for 90 minutes. The biggest plus was that each and every player appeared to be up for it.
Hull were poor BUT normally against teams like that Barnsley will slip to there level. Last night they didnt!
