what are the rules on this? morecambe don't seem to have many seats and at least one of the stands with terraces appears to be fairly recently built? Is this allowed after the Taylor report (which is now about 17 years old) had been released?
it may be yes...saying that though didn't fulham use terracing in the premier not long back? Yet Barnsley had to have their last bit of terracing fenced off for years, maybe that was their own choice tho
Only applies to the Prem and Championship Though there is a provision for teams to be given a dispensation to allow standing on a temporary basis as long as there a plans to fix the problem Personally it annoys me as I'd rather stand but rules is rules ... unless you are cardiff
Dispensation now given... which there wasn't when we were in that position.
I remember we were forced to completely close the Ponty and the West lower while we were redeveloping - the League gave us absolutely zero tolerance.
Surprise surprise.

True and they gaveit to Newcastle as well at the time we applied - they got it - we didn't. Think it was becuase hall was a raving tory!
Cardiff Had the remaining standing terrace closed down when they went into Championship, BUT were able to get permission when applied for when extra capacity was needed. But the games had to be exceptionalfor it to be granted.I believe they got it for the first game back in the Championship and one or two cup game.
Re Morecambes North Stand i think it was designed as standing but which could be easily adapted should the need arise to make it seated, reminds me of our ground in the past, think we had the lowest proportion of seats to total capacicity in the league
where did the seats go in first? Apart from the old wooden seats at the top of the west stand, where did the seats go in first at oakwell? was it when the east stand was built?
No it was Newcastle in the Premiership - they were allowed a longer time to redevelop part of their ground
RE: No it was Newcastle ye and look at the b*stard ground now! i went to one of the uefa cup games there a couple of years ago just after the new bits had opened, the place is amazing - a lot more striking than old trafford in my opinion. If they could somehow redevelop the other two sides in the same way it would be even better but given that the existing older stand that runs along the side of the pitch practically encroaches onto the gardens of a row of terraced houses i doubt they can do much. Definitely my favourite ground (next to oakwell ofcourse!)
RE: No it was Newcastle same season we played them in the league cup, they were unbeaten and Redders poped one in from 30 yards.
Didn't realise Sunderland had the whole of their ground they could still use though, even though it had a similar capacity to Oakwell yet they were averaging 17,000 whilst we were getting about 5,000
yeah Newcastle had one stand left to develop Was furious at the time because their chairman Sir Somebody Hall was a big Tory and got away with it!
