less than 9,000 at the vital 3 home games, just watch. Is there any wonder the players aren't running at it full pelt?Course, Davey should come out and say "f.(k the league, we're in the FA Cup semi final. Honesty is the best policy.
SM......... how many extra tickets could we be getting next week for Wembley? I see that Pompey have been given some extra........
RE: SM......... It's quite funny that we are the only team to sell out and might be getting more tickets........ WBA: Nearer to Wembley, much bigger average crowd and playing a premiership team. Pompey: Premiership team and really close to Wembley. Cardiff: Capital city of a country. Barnsley: Miners town from South Yorkshire and a big distance to travel, plus lowest average attendance of all four.
No I Don't The players have to take a lot of the responsibility. It's the players on the pitch that aren't doing what they are paid to do. I don't think many people will change much in what Davey does anyway.
if we get relegated then yes If we do not get relegated then no, I think we should get somebody in to help him though in an advisory capacity. It might be a chicken and egg situation and I fully understand where you are coming from but the 'proper' barnsley fans DO turn up to games and whilst it would be nice, the club has no devine right to expect anyone else to go to games, if they want them in they have to attract them and whilever we are playing the way we are we won't attract them without another factor. Against chelsea the factor was the chance to see chelsea, at wembley it is a chance to go to wembley, at oakwell in the league if the team aren't attracting the fans then the club needs to look at finding another attraction. The price possibly?
You've lost me completely Im pissed and you're probably stoned, we have no fu,3kin.g chance of communicating. Davey out: Y/N?
We are one of the cheapest seats in the Championship I think we're arriving in the same place: we can't afford Championship football.
We can't afford to be anywhere else mate.. fact I'm sure the crowds would've increased as the season wore on, but the continuous downward spiral since around Xmas, has seemingly put paid to that. This club is a Championship club.
yes we can And while yes we might be one of the cheapest (i'll take your word on that as I can't be bothered to check) when it comes to matchday prices, when it comes to season tickets we are not (when you take into account early bird/renewal discounts etc). You say that we cannot afford championship football and I can see where you are coming from but look how much money has been wasted this season by simon davey. If that money had been put to better use we could have been in the play-offs now and more people would have been going to oakwell regularly. I know of two people for example that would have gone regularly if we were playing better. The simple fact is this. On our atendances we can't afford to waste the amount of money that Simon Davey has this season. We CAN afford championship football though.
Season Ticket Prices For Next Season Should Have Been Announced By Now........ on the back of the great feeling over the cup run. But no, they will wait until the cup is over one way or another for us. Discounts and early bird deals should happen, like they do at many other clubs.
RE: You've lost me completely
You don't ask your customers for the money to improvea product. You get the product right and recoup your expenditure in increased sales. The support base (or, more relevantly, the potential extra support) is made up of thousands of individuals who haveother concernsand limited budgets, in those circumstances it's unreasonable to expect each of those individuals to make the decision to play his tiny part in the hope that thousands of others will do the same. In this case, as in every other sales scenario, the answer to the question, "Which comes first" is product improvement.

So getting to the FA Cup Semi Final isn't enough the punters also expect us to be playoffs or above as well? I agree that the facilities could be improved, and the marketing, but I refuse to accept that after last season, a realistic expectation was winning every home game and getting into Europe. Our home form is as good as its been for 10 years and the public are still ambivalent. Honestly, Im worried for our future.
So we need everyone of our signings to be a world beater? and cheap? You're living in EA Sports world if you think that's realistic. Every signing is a gamble. Every one. And Daveys success rate this season has been nothing short of amazing.
