All the George Best tribute programmes

There was one on BBC1 and one on Sky Sports - but both went on at length about his exploits off the field.

I'd just like one to show footage of him on the field and nothing else. Would be a great tribute.

 

Trouble is there's not that much footage of him in existance.

is very good.

Say what you liek about his lifestyle. His ability on the football field is beyond question. Two footed, great balance, ans what strength for a lightweight man. Makes todays players look what they are..mincers

To be honest apart from the odd footage every now and again over the last 10 years i havent really seen much of Best playing football. Those 5 minutes are probably the longest ive watched him on a football field. I noticed one great thing, he never went to ground. He took knock after Knock in his dazzling runs but never came close to hitting the deck.

I wouldnt be able to compare players of today with him. That clip would have been a small amount of Best's magic moments on the field, but for all i know he could have been a cheating tw*t too.... along with the likes of our stars of today, Ruud, Pires,(hate them both)along with the rest. The slightest of touches and down.

 

Maybe...

but I've seen more than this and he did not seem to behave like that, certainly in an era with the likes of Bremner and Harris at their height
