Nah, it's about teams resting their players, surely? That's what all the PL Clubs say, anyway ;)

Aye, winter break to rest up and recharge the batteries. No chance. Might as well just get on with the league games.

Ive never understood the winter break idea. Chances are the break would come to an end and then we'd get two weeks of snow. It's not like we can efficiently predict when the cold snap is going to kick in.

Christmas fixture list is a feature of British...well, English, football. It's what us supporters look forward to. You know, the people who pay to watch? Would be a sad day, if it gets introduced

I don't think it will ever be the Xmas games cancelled, the winter break would be in January.

As soon as a winter break was in place the likes of Manure, City, Chelsea, etc would be off around the world playing lucrative fixtures so what would be the point. It would just be another way to squeeze money out of fans so I hate the idea.

Exactly, we'd keep the festive fixtures as they're an age old tradition and synch it with the January transfer window so fans still have something to talk about.

But as many have said, the likes of the Cardiff and Hull owners would no doubt parade their clubs to far flung corners of the globe, so it would probably result in players being even more tired come the summer.

    Without a doubt.

As it's the big clubs that are leading this, maybe we could cut back on the European competitions which would free quite a few midweeks up? Go back to the old knockout format with just the champions qualifying for the European Cup, etc. Yeah, right, as if that would happen!
