Its not the personal, it's the guidance & organisation offered to them by the management, we are crying out for a defensive coach, and until we get one it don't matter who pulls on the shirt they're going to struggle because of the lack of understanding between the back 5
Mcnulty loses possession countless times. He is an absolute liability. That isn't about organisation, he's accident prone.
McNulty gave the ball away no end yesterday and didn't seem too bothered about getting back to defend his own mistakes. He isn't fit, his head's all over the shop and his heart's not in it. Something wrong with that lad, cos he always had a go even if he isn't that good.
Come on Nightmare, players have to take accountability for their own performances. Simple defending is not being executed on an regular basis and if we don't fix it, and I mean by getting a proper centre half in the transfer window, then we are destined for relegation imho. Chef Tyke is correct in relation to McNulty, who I used to like, but not only is he a liability in possession but he has been poor defensively. Against Burnley it felt like we only had one centre half, in Foster, cos I was embarrassed for McNulty who had an absolute stinker.
in my opinion the reason he's struggling is down to a lack of composure and the ability to make the right decision under pressure, with the right guidance and coaching i think he could put this right but it looks to me like he's being offered no support what so ever
