All this furore I'm reading about regarding Bolton being unhappy at the ref...

Anyone else not understand this? I thought he clearly favoured Bolton throughout the game. Should have booked Kevin Davies for a late foul and didn't and gave them a few soft free kicks.

Freedman has said: "I thought Kevin Davies was fantastic today but I just felt the referee didn't understand what he was doing. You can't blame him; you've got to blame the system.

"The poor guy has probably been asked to work all week to fend for his family and then he is asked to turn up in a stadium and make big decisions. It's unfair."

What a load of claptrap. Davies fouled our defenders all game and could easily have been sent off.

 

I thought the ref was a joke for both sides at times,the Bolton fans forums seem to think he denied them 2 possibly 3 pens....in all honesty I can't remember a single moment when they could have had one.... even with Kettle.
As you say Davies should have been booked early..he might have been lucky to stay on then..not dirty but cynical... sorry.......professional

 

I thought he was going going to book kevin davies for that tackle in the first half,he definately shouted davies over and looked like he was going for his pocket to pull the card out,but we took the kick quickly and the ref stopped what he was doing and caught up with play.

 

Kevin Davies has always been like that, isn't he the most booked player in Premier League history?
