is yet another case of Barnsley fans jumping to conclusions and reacting before they hear the club's side of the story.
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/Leeds-must-fight-own-battle.3801257.jp
Talk about overreactions, bloody hell.

It is - but when the top bod at the Football League makes such a firm statement that Barnsley are supporting Leeds's appeal I don't think such a reaction is totally unreasonable. Shep has now dismissed it and his word is good enough for me.
Wasn't far to jump To believe a statement reported on the BBC and supposedly in writing from Lord Mawhinney. Not as if he's going to answer the phone to tell us he might have got the wrong end of the stick. You've got to believe people some time. I wasn't at Anfield but I've kind of taken it for granted that we did actually win . . .
I just think its typical.. that we didn't wait to see what Shepherd actually had to say about it - he just got strung up good and proper. And I suspect the club had more important things to deal with today than this with the amount of people who felt the need to panic and get their tickets.
Some of the stuff posted on here about him today has been out of order - and maybe that is down to the football league - or more likely down to Leeds feeding them a load of crap about having our support.
Just think we should have a little more faith in our chairman, thats all.

Disagree completely - This wasn't a story on Football Rumours. Why would we not believe the chairman of the Football League? I didn't jump to a conclusion, and I didn't over-react, I was genuinley worried about my football club and with the evidence presented over the last few hours I had every right to do so.
Certain individuals strung up our chairman without allowing him to give his side of the story. I'd say thats slightly unfair - and not suggesting it was you that did it.
That would be fine If these things were transparent but they're not. We often don't get to hear about the decisions and the decision making process. Which, as I said earlier, I generally don't have an issue about and I'm very happy with how the club has been run in the PC/GS era. But then something like this is reported on the BBC web site and from the league chairman and people are understandably upset. It's easy in hindsight to say it was an overreaction but it was the only reaction I had and I stick by it. The sources were good and the news was potentially damaging to the club I love. Faith is all well and good but there's no need for it in an open and accountable organisation.
I can understand the craziness I suppose - but the reason I didn't post on it was because I was waiting to see what the club actually had to say about the situation - don't think thats too much to ask. Oh well, done with now.
Maybe your opinion and feeling on the matter wasn't as strong as ours? Certain issues mean more to certain supporters than other issues do, this one meaning a lot to me. In all honestly I was outraged, and had no reason to think otherwise as the story was coming in qwuote format from the chariman of the Football League. Just hope Gordon demands a puclic apology from Malwhinney, it's the least we deserve.
Why would you be worried? Have you nothing better to be worried about? What have to worry about Barnsley siding with Leeds? Whats going to happen? All hell and thunder down at Oakwell? Stop over reacting you girl. If Shepherd believes Leeds have been hard done by then fair play to the man for fighting for what he believes. The last person he needs to answer himself to is someone who complains about a cold when hes got a sniffle (thats you by the way).
not wishing to sound negative (for a change) It's good that Shepherd has said that he isn't helping leeds fight the 15 point deduction now but in the story linked to in this thread does it mention anywhere that gordon shepherd has denied voting in favour of leed's not being deducted 15 points back in the summer? I can't see it specifically mentioned anywhere. It would be interesting to know whether or not we did actually vote yes or no to the deduction originally and what the reasons for it were if we did vote against them.
RE: not wishing to sound negative (for a change) There was a list published at the time of the clubs that voted in favour of Leeds....and BArnsley were not on that list.
Excuse me? Can't get my head around a few comments here: "Leeds hard done by" "fair play to him for fighting what he believes" "cold and sniffles" "Girl" The kind of quotes that wouldn't go a miss in a certain "Best of Peter Doyle Quotes" phrasebook.
Glad to hear it. Any idea where the full list can be found? Or does anyone else reading this know? (come on, there must be at least 2 people that still read my posts)
Rubbish Vast majority of the comments last night related to Barnlsey Football Club's actions - NOT Gordon Shepherd's.
Mr Shepherd is NOT Barnsley FC and Barnsley FC is NOT Mr Shepherd.
Mr Shepherd has denied any personal involvement and that's fine. Anybody who slagged him off personally owes him an apology.
However there seems little doubt that Barnsley FC has managed to align itself to Leeds United's cause. If that were not the case, why is Mr Shepherd 'trying to extricate us from this situation?' If we're not involved, what is he trying to get us out of?
Consequently all the comment about Barnsley Football Club's involvement, as opposed to Mr Shepherd's, was IMHO perfectly fair and reasonable and not in any way jumping the gun.
