Juvenile and pathetic. You either support Barnsley FC or you don't. It's about the club and not one man for christ's sake. I'm not saying that I would be happy with some of the people being touted for the job but I would still give them a chance. Whether it's Megson, Blackwell, Flitcroft, Redders or Arsene Wenger, the club needs to unite as one. Manager, players and fans et al.
I am not bothered who get the managers job, except for Flitcroft, who is half of the problem we have at the club. If he gets it then fair do`s, good for him and the rest of the fans, but I personally will not set foot inside Oakwell while he is there. Whether that makes me juvenile or what ever else you want to call it, I have my reasons and they are good enough for me. i will not prevent anyone else going or tell anyone not to go. I will still follow Barnsley FC and always will, I just will not go to Oakwell.
If Blackwell gets the job the club can go do as it pleases. Don talks about connecting with the fans... Aye alright
After hearing Flitcroft speak on his pre match interview, hes his own man,hes changing things, hes not stuck on the keith hill philosophy. I hope we win and win well tommorow just to show flicker can do it
You pays your money you takes your choice. Would i watch BFC if Flitcroft,Blackwell or Palmer were put in charge? No i wouldn't.
I'll keep going, I've watched them under every manager from johnny Steele onwards and for much of that time they've been as bad as they are now. I cheer myself up by thinking that it makes the brief spells of success more enjoyable when they come around. Like some religion, suffering in this world to get your rewards in the next. load of old cobblers like, but you've got to have some twisted logic to keep turning up
You don't state that you are re-aligning the club with the fans and then appoint Kevin Blackwell. Pretty much anyone else I'll tolerate, but if they hire Kevin Blackwell I won't be going back to Oakwell until he's gone.
My view entirely - anyone else even someone I dont agree with like Flitcroft or even Brian Laws I'd grumble but I would still go Blackwell would be different though
I would be happy to back any manager we appoint and I think its something we'd all NEED to do if he is to succeed. However, the name 'Blackwell' is something that most fans could simply not accept (we'd probably hear Blackwell out chants in his first game) so that is definitely an appointment I'd struggle with - and for that very reason. I would seriously doubt he is even being considered by the board tbh. I agree BobT, the more I listen to what Rowing has had to say about the credentials required for the new manager - the more I think Brown is ticking all his boxes. And tbh, given the realistic other options on the 'shortlist', I'd be fairly happy with that appointment. He does at least have managerial experience at the very highest level
I'll always be a BFC supporter but it doesn't give the club carte blanche to do anything and still get my money. The appointment of a known fascist would be totally unacceptable for me, some would probably welcome it. I'd struggle with a few other appointments, Flitcroft being one of them, but Di Canio would stop me from going
I think the board are going to get a Phil brown in and to sweeten the fans get a Neil redfern / nicky eaden in. What do you think the don can't be that clever though can he . ????
