We are 5 points better off! this stage last season...

    pl 36 w10 d13 l13 pts 43

We've actually won one less game than last season.

    The difference is...

...we're more difficult to beat and have converted losses into draws. Much better defence; still clueless up front.

Not losing games may also be called progress.
    5 points more is progress.

Overall an improvement on last season.

    League is much tougher

Three teams at the bottom are better than those who went down, while teams like QPR and Hull are a lot better than what they were last season (you could add Burnley to that list as well).

    Davey hasn't told me anything

I've never heard him say that, actually.

You surely can't say that it's the same or weaker?

why do you think its harder?

just cos we have spent some money and not improved that much?

    RE: The difference is...

    Positives
    Better Home Record
    Better players on Bench
not getting hammered by teams (Coventry aside)

    Negatives
    Struggling For Goals
    No Plan B in games

We'll stay up this season...3 wins from 10 sounds a lot at moment but as soon as the FA Cup exploits are over on Satdi (or not?!?!?) then we'll have the team focused on survival.

Next season...if we can get a goalscorer to partner macken and get a prem DM on loan... keep the defence steady...we should be mid table at xmastime...then we will have Muller and De Silva available in new year and have a late push for play-offs

    OR

We'll win the FA Cup and then get relegated with the Wendies

    (blagger)

    No

Other teams have spent money and HAVE improved, ie Hull and QPR

Southend and Luton were very poor last season, and Leeds weren't much better. I think Colchester and Scunny are better than those.

There's probably no statistical evidence for that but...

    ... I'm tempted to agree.
When you look down the list in our division there's a good number of clubs with a decent pedigree.
