I'm not sure we're as desperate for one as people are making out. Yes we have struggled for goals this season but at the same time I think flicker has struggled to find our best formation until yesterday where we were 2 nil up until we changed things. I just think now we are looking like 352 is our best formation (we knew this anyway) the goals should come. Basically if we play 352 we look more potent going forward and stronger at the back but if he goes back to 442 we will struggle.
I see your point but had we had a Billy Sharp(for example)yesterday, the game would have been out of sight before Charlton scored.
A lot of people are saying that...I'm not certain...a lucky goal and suddenly things can change in any game.
As the man said, we're always looking to recruit and improve. As much as I appreciate the work Daggers puts in for the team, his goalscoring stats are looking pretty poor. It's not as if we have players wading in with goals from midfield and the job that Big Chris does, often means he's not in a goal-scoring position when opportunity comes. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of partnership Mellis and Jennings can strike up, perhaps playing off a lone O'Grady?
The way I see it is, we have 3 senior strikers. If Rose and Cofie and the other young lads were ready, they'd be making appearances. This leaves us with 3 strikers, one of which can only manage probably a maximum of an hour a game. If Daggers or Cogba get injured, we've to rely on Scotland or Rose or Cofie, that's a lot of pressure to put on such young shoulders. I'd rather we had that extra option.
