didn't we sign up Mcindoe and Togwell?

    or are my dates wrong?

anyway for me only mistake so far is to NOT get a central defender.

    which we still can

    hope springs eyernal

actually I am a little worried that we lose such as Howard in the transfer window........

you forgot about the ball-holding forward,

someone who can make the ball stick up front. we don't have that type of player.I think it has become apparent that we also require a leader in midfield.

I just can't see that scoring goals is per see the problem..

lokk at the tables we do 2Ok"

its letting the b*ggers in that is the problem

on balance I REALLY think we can't afford the 4 man attaching midfield

toggers is the nearesst to a midfield defender we've go - but HE bombs forward

So........ hard as it is we can' start with 2 attacking wingers - devaney to the bench

    I would tend to agree...however

It seems now there's just too much pressure on the defence because when the ball gets upfield, we aren't doing enough to firstly, keep it for decent spells (Parlour may help with this), create clear cut chances (granted we have in some games) and finally, take those chances.

I'm inclined to say I think we need a new striker, but then I also think we are lacking at left back. I guess in our posiition we need to prioritise. Right now I think a goalscorer would turn more losses into wins than a new defender.

A ball-holding forward is not just about scoring goals...

I agree we have the potential for goals & we have a decentish goals for column. However, a forward who can hold the ball, shield it dwell on it, gives our defenders a bit of breathing space & helps them to regain a bit of composure when theyv'e been under a spell of pressure. It also buys the midfielders a bit of time to get up & support. As I have said we do not have that type of player at the club.

Neil shipperley springs straight to mind.. but

it doesn't need to be a well-known player or even someone who has played at the top. Remember Trevor Aylott, who had heard of him before he came.

    I had thought of Shipps

    As for Trevor Aylott...unfortunately I don't remember him, I'm only 20!
But I know what you mean!

Maybe we could do with some improved scouting looking at the lower leagues, there's been plenty through the years who have been snapped up from non-league and have done a job
