I fully agree with this, we should be building from the back. Last year we were stretched this year were one down already.

To throw a youngster straight in is asking for disaster, and could destroy the kid before they get started.

Sorry but we don't seem to know what we are doing, there seems no strategy of building a team/squad. We struggle to set a formation and stick with it playing players in their optimum positions, it always a case of filling gaps and hoping it will hold together.

    Why..........What is really going on????

You build from front these days, worry about letting them in later.

    I think its pretty obvious

SD has developed a case of Keeganitis if they score 3 we'll score 4.

Oh wait a minute he hasn't signed a striker either has he

Its better than going for a 1-0 and getting stuffed by four.

Okay then working on your theory where's the goals coming from????

The whole world is looking for the golden striker, with a lot more cash in the pot than we can muster.

Were going into the season with Odds and Sods up front as possibly the main strike force!! Hume I hope gets it all back and does the job for us. The man needs the time though without the pressure to pull the team up by it's boot straps. Coulson is I fear on his last chance if his legs break down again you can only have so much treatment before doubt breaks your resolve, I'd hate to see him break down again.

Macken tries but is not the main striker and Bogey i'd love to do the job as I like his effort but ?????? cannot see him hitting double figures.

Throw in a few youngsters and what do we have fact rather than rumours?????

    The front seems well built!!!!

What i'd give to have a couple of center halves such as Arian and a certain Mr Taggart. A tag- team which will growl at the opposition and get the fans up for it. No nonsense, either the ball or the striker goes into the stand, real leaders. The in front of them a real fighter in midfield, forget yer fancy players get the spine running with fight.

When this is done get the old big man small man playing off each other as in Wilkinson and Hendrie.

Its not just down the playing staff, its the type of football we play.If we drop the negative approach and actually try to score more than one goal in a game that would be a good start. Strikers need the chances to score goals.

We should play to our strengths. At present though we have no strengths . I find myself going to every game full of hope but with a large portion of doubt of how we are going to set up and play.

If we do get a bit of luck and look like getting a win we sit back and get picked off, how many times did it happen last season??? Once is too many but we never learned, so I agree with the negative play aspect, but the players we have cannot keep the ball up and it just bounces back.

Catch 22 at present with the main emphasis going to be defence, the teams which were down with us last season such as Forest have strengthened leaving us more exposed. Again I find myself looking for the three that may sit below us at the end.....What a way to start a season!
