Ok so if it was true that AR was not keen on bringing in new players then maybe it was time he moved on as he probably had took us as far as we could go (with current squad). But what i want to know is (assuming Davey has picked these players to sign) how did he know what players and which positions he needed to fill when he has been in charge for a day or two? Does SD watch every first team game to know which areas we are weak in? It all seems a bit strange and i wonder how many of these signings are basically to keep the supporters quiet while this whole mess is sorted out. Im not knocking the signings as i havent seen any of them play enough to make an informed opinion but to sign 2 midfielders, a winger and a striker when we have the worst defensive record in the league doesnt add up. Are they panic loans or what? Also is Simon Davey being lined up for the managers job permanently? I reckon there will be a lot of applicants but very few that will stand out and i seriously cant see us bringing in a boss who already has a job so maybe the cheaper option again? If these players are here till January maybe the man who brought them in has the same amount of time to make an impression.
Compare Wendy manager applications.....to......TARN manager applications They get 20,000 per home game We get 10,000 per home game Yet look at the names that are being banded about for the TARN And compare who went for the Wendy job Who did Wendy get.....someone from Scunny after Robson and Worthington had turned them down Just shows the state of Wendy
Interesting that he has id targets either hes done it in 48hrs or he had those targets before and Ritchie said no
His job is to scout for players all season that could be possible signings.
The manager simply takes his advice or not.(as the case maybe).
He's probably got a list as long as your arm.
Clubs also circulate lists of players available for loan.
I would have thought SD/MW et al have advised PC/GS who likely have other football contacts. (PC's with Man U etc.)
