last 6 full games he played (I am ignoring Norwich where he went off injured

    W 1 D 1 L 4 F 4 A 12

last 6 games he didn't play

    W 1 D 3 L 2 F9 A 12

So when he plays we win less ,lose more and score less goals !!

    Look at the opponents though

West Brom, then Plymouth and Norwich away to name a few.

Good player though he is, I don't think he gets up for every game. He raises his game when he perceives it's needed. West Brom and Liverpool being perfect examples. The measure of an outstanding player is one who produces the goods no matter who the opposition is - week in, week out.

    Having said that

    With De Silva we've ------- P 20 W 7 D 5 L 8 PTS 26 PPG 1.3

    Without De Silva we've---- P 14 W 3 D 6 L 5 PTS 15 PPG 1.07

So overall the stats do bear out that we do better with him.

We still lose more than we win when he plays

We're just not very good, whichever way you look at it.

    I wasn't implying he's no good....................

far from it! I would have him in the side every time-and Hassell is not a midfielder -one half decent half won't cover that up.

I think I was just trying to calm down the doom and gloom merchants-we will miss him but it is perfectly possible to win games without him.
