We roughly have 400-500 grand to spend on players how are we expected to sign a right/left back and two strikers with good quality for 400 grand? Impossible.

Are they really hoping we buy this ********? It's because we have been unsuccessful in bringing in a decent striker. It's a poor excuse to use Holgate as the reason for that.

I dont im guessing, we bid 300k for Dempsey and readying a 400k bid for this Smith, but 2 and 2 together.

What an eloquent and insightful post. I can see precisely why you didn't post this in the 'Waiting on Holgate' thread. It really deserves a thread all of its own.

Have the club actually said they're waiting or is it just the radio shitfield announcement?

Really? In what context? I can't understand how we have to wait for the off loading of a player who doesn't earn much and what bit he does earn doesn't go towards scmp. We're already bidding fees for players.

    I'm lost on this one.

Have a look on the thread by Gally about the meeting, he mentions it on there

"Any news on a new striker?
“Dunno, ask Mason Holgate’s agent” Lee would like another proven striker. Probably a winger. We are getting towards another lively budget. We will continue to add quality. That quality doesn’t come cheap and we have to be responsible."

No different to the waiting for players to move last season, everybody fell for that one so its obvious they'll use it again

I must be blind but I can't see it in that, which is paraphrased obviously, and meaning is often lost in the written word.

"We are getting towards another lively budget. We will continue to add quality . That quality doesn’t come cheap and we have to be responsible."

Doesn't necessarily mean we have to wait , but we have to be mindful of the budget.
