I'm not going to make light of the terrorist threat etc, but I'd be very surprised if Barnsley vs Sheffield United was on the radar of Daesh.
Id be surprised as well but then again a rock concert by a group I had never heard of wasnt something I would have thought was at risk either. Being all ticket didnt make any difference there. All ticket or not isnt really going stop a suicide bomber - does this mean all matches are now all ticket as I cant see why us vs the blunts is anymore likely a target than any other match in the lower leagues
Here is what we know. If you want to go then buy before the day as it is cheaper; no change. If want to go up on the day for kick off then buy on your phone and pick up from box office. Police have spoken. Club made it fairly easy for fans - even those who decide at half two if going - to get in. Of course it won't sell out but making it all ticket will set a cheaper police fee. And we are now reading all sorts saying no money.
Exactly if someone wants to kill people at Oakwell or anywhere else it doesn't matter how much security we do it will happen. Searches aren't exactly metal detectors or x ray machines. You can go without a bag and pop a gun in your underwear knowing it doesn't matter if you are a man or woman you can't be touched up around the groin or tits so it wouldn't be found. Pop straight to the cubicle like you're having a number 2 and pop it from your pants or bra into your pocket. Then go to your seat and cause carnage. It's good we are being more vigilant as we should never just assume it will never happen to us. But these people know how to get around not being known until it's too late. If they want to cause severe suffering no amount of bag searching will stop it.
