I never knew this and arrived at 10 to 3 and couldn't get one. I sort of understand the reasons but a bit more communication wouldn't go amiss. I listened to Radio Dee-Dar from 2pm till 2:45 and they never mentioned it. As luck would have it, a bloke sold me his mate's ticket as he couldn't make it, otherwise it would have been a wasted 140-mile round trip. Come on Mr Mansford, sort it out.
Police advice mate, they waint sell em after a set time. Bumped into 3 mates(first timers) that wanted to see the Hull game last season, late decision like, tried to get tickets and were refused.
To be fair it's been on the internet loads, and it was mentioned in the last programme and during the game etc - but I agree, it's stupid that BFC fans can't buy tickets up until 3pm!! If the police make it all-ticket, then why can't BFC fans who are on the system buy from the ticket office until 3pm!? I don't see the difference between this and 12pm? The police shouldn't decide it's all ticket though, costing the club a lot of money, they should let us decide ticket policy and they should do there job!!
Glad you managed to get a ticket, Brush. I posted about this yesterday. I have a 300 mile round trip, and because I could not book online or by phone on Saturday am, I had to set off at 8.00 am Sunday morning, arriving at 11.00 to get tickets for a 3.00 pm kick off. That's 4 hours to fill in, with 2 young kids!!! I got the tickets easily enough, because my kids were wearing BFC shirts, but the bloke in front of me was getting the 9th degree about where he was from, being asked to name our manager, AM, previous manager, goalkeeper - and so it went on, I kid you not!! Then he was asked if he was a Derby fan!! This is pretty pathetic - just to watch a match at Oakwell. My boys have just received the full away strip for Christmas, and today also bought a home shirt each, scarves, 2 footballs, posters, programmes. I know it's not about how much these things cost, but petrol, food, prezzies etc meant a total cost of over £250 today, and this not knowing we would actually have any tickets for the game!! I got home at 8.30 pm, and my boys were high as a kite despite us losing, but to be honest I don't know if I will ever bother again. And I have been watching the Reds since 1966. Rant over.
Just as well I didn't get a grilling, I wouldn't have got a ticket, I live in Church Gresley, 10 miles south of Derby....
