    Arjan de Zueew

The most cultured, intelligent, talented footballer ever to wear a barnsley shirt.

Always had time on the ball and nothing got passed him

Neil Redfearn. Never hid even when having a stinker. Got some right stick in his 1st couple of seasons and went on to lead the team into the Prem and made a superhuman effort to keep us there.

Hignett as well for me. The season under Bassett was my favourite ever year as well.

Just to be different...Higgy for me also.

Probably the most naturally gifted player we've had and are ever likely to have.
I've never seen a more obvious case of a 'one man team' than in the play off year. Dragged to to Wembley and almost dragged us up.

    Class act.

    Ronnie Glavin

Simply the best player to wear the shirt of Barnsley Football Club whilst I've been a fan (1960's). Goalscorer , dribbler , creator of countless chances for team mates , terrifier of opposition players and fans alike whether he had the ball or not .

    Redders

dragged the team through the machin era despite the doubters.

he was a one man 'lets avoid relegation' from the premier.

outstanding player and he did it for us at the highest level. kissing the shirt and meaning it also did it for me.

and to put it into context i've been watching the reds since 1980 so saw banks, glavin, mccarthy et al; great players all but redders did it consistently and then at a higher level.
