Does ayone know if Kwik Fit or someone like that will come out to my house and fit some alloys I have bought somewhere else? I seem to be able to get the wheels and tyres alot cheaper elsewhere. Also, how much is mobile fitting? Does it exist? TIA
for mobile fitting check the yellow pages out, doubt kwik fit do a mobile service though, however most places like kwik fit, ats, motosave etc do fit your own tyres and wheels for a charge, anything between £10-£20 a tyre/wheel.
Krap fit wouldn't touch them wi a barge pole, dodgy grease monkeys the lot of em. I always buy tyres online, much cheaper. I'm not in Barnsley and use a local place (Selectatyre, not sure if theyre a national group) to fit them. I always buy an axle set and they fit both tyres for £20, balanced etc. mytyres.co.uk is a cheap place to buy online. etyres.co.uk will come and fit for you but you have to buy from them.
RE: Do it yourself! No thanks. Rather pay someone else. Plus I am fooking useless at anything car related. Can just drive one, nowt else.
For a proper cheap solution Try Barnsley college. Surely they'll let the students do it for the experience and charge you very little if anything. Obviously there's a slight element of risk involved there. What do you drive?
RE: For a proper cheap solution Yh, thanks for the suggestion. I will er file that one. Got a Toyota Paseo Si. 1996 but only 65k on clock. In mint condition. But alloys are a bit boring and 2 valves are buggered. Fancied giving it a new set.
So long as you get the right size spigot ring... everything should be simple. It's just a question of measuring the internal diameter of your current wheels. You can buy spigot ring packs really cheap. See, I'm giving you this advice and yet I've nivver done it myself. I wouldn't trust what I say.
For cheap alloys see Jamie @ Performance Direct in Cudworth. Does allsorts of wheel deals. Plus theyll fit em free of charge.
