Alnwick - backup/competition or replacement?

    Interesting that everyone assumes Alnwick is backup or competition for Steele. Part of me wonders if he might be a replacement, especially with only a year left to run on his contract. Perhaps we've had some interest and decided to cash in?

    Alnwick seems to be highly rated and higher profile than I would have expected us to get as backup.

    It will certainly make contract negotiations with Steele interesting. I think the club may have learnt from their previous experiences of late

    if we are serious about keeping steele we need to be offering him a new contract now, unless disco don hasnt learned anything from the butterfield episode.

    alnwick is more than an able replacement on paper, spurs spent a fair bit of cash on him not long since but id still prefer steele to sign a new contract
