This morning's rule changes. On going to the box-office for tickets an enquiry was about Centenary Society membership. Sorry "she's not here but not a problem, either wait here or you can phone up later and join". Quick check on website confirms this "phone 211211 and ask for Lottery" (you need to pay three months in advance and pay by Direct Debit). What happens when you phone up later/ talk to woman on switch board who says you can't joing by phone only in person and by paying cash and you've got to pay a year in advance. Check on website to two different new articles (both posted today). First says that yes it's 12 months in advance but phone box-office to sign up and pay by direct debit today. Second says cash or cheque only (implying visit to box-office). Whatever they tell you - don't believe it.
Have you tried phoning the box office - 10 mins in a queue to be told that a person isn't available to answer your call. Says to leave a message or press '0' - Press '0' and it says the option isn't available then prompts you to leave a message. Then it says the mail box is full and asks you to wait. Round and round and round on a 0871 number.
I have rung, twice. First time got through and given totally different info to what box-office staff were giving out. Second time tried to leave a call-back number but automated system went wrong. Given up for today.
phone 211211 ignore the prompt for the o870 number-and when you get an answer ask for the box office-works every time
That's what I ended up doing - They got a good firewall/switchboard operator that answers most questions without having to put you through to the box office. ie. No more half season tickets for sale.
