Mine (assuming healthy besides McGeehan): 4-5-1 Davies McCarthy - MacDonald - Lindsey - Yiadom Isgrove - Williams - Moncur - Mallan - Hammill Ugbo
Lindsay could miss the first couple of games due to injury. See the large dwarf is having the Ashton Gate pitch taken in by a yard from either touchline. Says it will give them a 0.1% advantage the way they intend to play this season. Might be best to start with Mallan on the bench with Ugbo and Bradshaw up top.? Also can we bank on Yiadom being still with us.? Sounds as though Wagner is ready to lodge an increased bid.
Only half with experience of this division but it looks reasonable on paper. That's all we have to go on at the moment - "looks good on paper". Judgements should be made at the end of September, but that's too late for some people. We're down already, apparently
I'd rather Pinnock start than Jackson if Lindsey is injured.... Sub in Fryers for Yiadom if he is sold (hoping not though)
It's a hard one Kingbenny92. Davies Mcarthy Jackson Macdonald Fryers Williams d'almeida Mowatt Moncur Isgrove Ugbo If we get a striker in. Ugbo on the left, Mowatt out and isgrove on the right.
I think you are probably close there;however I do not see Hammill starting as his game is wasteful at times. He will more than likely play Mowatt in the centre and Mallan out wide. If Lindsay is still a risk than Jackson as replacement, remember last year those two helped keep some clean sheets. I expect Bristol City to be very direct, there is a case for playing 3_5_1_1, with the squad in it's current state.
I'll go a bit adventurous.. I think 3 at the back being relatively inexperienced as a unit they can hold a tighter line than stretched out across a back 4. I'd be looking for Angus to be keeping them well marshalled. Williams to provide a bit of reassurance in front of the back 3 but also working the line across the pitch making sure if one of our two men out wide goes forward, they can do so with confidence that Williams will be adding that extra layer of defence. I think Yids if still here could fulfil that role well and also has the defensive ability over Hammill. Moncur and Mallan in the middle. If fit, may have opted for McGeehan and Moncur.. Ugo to start and I've opted to be partnered by Brown. Yes little experience but think they are worth giving a go. Although Brown may step down to the bench to make way depending on who we sign striker wise and when.. If we signed someone Friday, wouldn't start for me.... Bit of a dilemma with Fryers, McCarthy... To be honest not seen enough of the new signings to know where they can and can't play. We are going to need some flexibility in terms of positioning people. 3-1-4-2 Davies Pinnock - MacDonald - Lindsey Williams Isgrove - Moncur - Mallan - Yiadom Ugbo Brown
Davies McCarthy MacDonald Jackson Fryers Mallan Williams Moncur Isgrove Ugbo Bradshaw Subs: Townsend, Pinnock, D'Almeida, Mowatt, Hammill, Hedges, Payne
Davies McCarthy - MacDonald - Jackson - Yiadom Isgrove - Mowett - Williams - Moncur - Hammill Bradshaw Presuming Lindsay isn't fit.
Surprised to see so much difference of opinion. To me the team virtually picks itself. 10 players are nailed on starters for me if available. Davies McCarthy MacDonald Lindsay Yiadom Isgrove Moncur Williams Hammill then either Mowatt or Mallon as a no. 10 or Bradshaw partnering Ugbo up top. If Lindsay isn't fit then Pinnock starts. If Yiadom is sold then Fryers comes in. People going with 3 at the back isn't realistic, we've not played it all season so it's a non-starter.
Very much doubt we'll start the season with a formation not tried out in pre season once. Most likely to be a 4-5-1 I would have what with the lack of strikers. We'll probably be going there for a point. Backs to the wall until new signings come in.
For me I would go Davies McCarthy Angus Lindsay (Pinnock if Liam is still out) Yids Isgrove Moncur Williams Mallan Bradshaw Ugbo
My line-up for Saturday; Get Up *****. Shave. Shower. Cuppa(C) Cut Grass. Sky Sports News. Praise or Grumble. Pub. Kebab. Bed. *Note if Cut Grass is sold to Huddersfield It shall be replaced by Coronation Street omnibus.
Davies McCarthy - MacDonald - Lindsay - Yiadom Mallan - Williams - Moncur - Isgrove Payne - ugbo McCarthy and mallan formed an excellent partnership against Coventry. Williams put the effort on n Saturday so deserves a chance. I think moncur will work well with him with one sitting deeper and one pushing forward. Bradshaw and ugbo are not effective together and too similar to Bradshaw and Armstrong for me. Payne offers strength and size up front but it was a toss up between him and brown
I like that line up, but can't be seen agreeing with you, old mate. So I'll select Jacob Brown instead of Stefan Payne!
