Who voted for Barry Conlon for MOTM?

    Seriously, who?

I'd like to know which four Barnsley fans, think that a man who stands in a small square between the centre circle and the penalty area, and is a target man who is never in box, was our best player.

I pitied Hayes because, just like at Scnuthorpe, he may aswell have played upfront on his own.

So c'mon..who was it? I'd love for them to explain their reasons.

I think he's referring to the MOTM poll on this site (rather than the one announced at the game)

I know someone who did, and their reasoning was...

"Held the ball up well. Some good touches. Also our best (only) defender at set pieces."

I know it's hard for you Bazza baiters, but it's getting boring listening to youse blame a player who only gets a game thru injury or panic (losing at places like Scunny).

Ppl need their heads knocking together if they're blaming the state of how the 1st team is doing on a RESERVE player.

    I'm not a "Barry basher"

And I actually liked him last season. But the fact is that he was not the best player yesterday. Not even close. Everytime he got the ball, the attack lost momentum. I remember a ball going up to Hayes which he brilliantly controlled and volleyed to Conlon, who took six touches, turned around and played it back to Reid. He takes the momentum out of anything we try to do, and a centre forward who's 6" + and was in the penalty area about twice in 90 minutes is NOT what we need.

It's fair to say that he doesn't get much of a chance, but all that does is show the lack of depth in our squad. Jarman looked decent when he came on, but bar that, I fear for our ability to score goals if we lose Hayes/Nardiello for a long period more than I worry about the back four.

Not entirely sure you can categorise anyone as a "<insert player name> basher" with your criticism of Shuker, whether I agree with it or not. ( I do think he's overrated..perhaps not quite as much as you suggest.)

Jarman looked decent because Yeovil threw everyone forward in an attempt to equalise, so he did not get the pressure on space that they were facing earlier.

    Don't take offence but....

Do you ever have anything positive to say(neer) Without Bazza we would have conceded 3 or 4 goals ,his defensive work was outstanding ,and given he hasnt played a full 90 mins at first team level for some time he lasted quite well

Do I ever have anything positive to say, or Red Rain?

Seen as I'd like to think I'm one of the more positive posters on this place..

I wholehearedly agree. Bazza was an outstanding defender on Saturday, especially when Yeovil were taking set pieces. I lost count of the number of times he headed away. He gets a lot of unfair criticism in my opinion.

But he's being paid as a centre forrad...

perhaps the manager should move him to defence, cos he is better there

He's only had one start, did more in the first 15 minutes that 30 goals a season:)pff ) Nardiello has done in the last two games.Fact is he had to get back for every corner and free kick from Yeovil because Effin Sodje would have been unmarked if he hadnt,on one occasion there was Bazza surrounded by three Yeovil players on the back post with our centre backs marking midgets on the front post and one of them was Shuker! Then when he wins the header some on here think he should sprint 80 yrds to win the long ball whacked up field from his headed clearance, and do it for 90 minutes.
