We need some ideas of how we can get out of this current striker crisis. 1.Play as many strikers up front as possible. Well someones got to score if we throw enough bodies in. 2.Put the kids in? 3.Put Anthony Kay up front again. Just for the laugh like. 4.Play 10 defenders and hope 6 0-0 draws gets us in play offs. Note we win play off games on pens 5.Ask for special circumstances to be taken into account ie strikers have all had memory loss and forgot what a net is and register Andy Ritchie as a player (note Rick Holden may become jealous or become manager) 6.Bribe the opposition keeper into droppiong a few clangers. Any more?
Anything as long as its not Conlon. Here's a radical suggestion, we let a partnership actually have a run in the side. Since Nardiello's out of action and Richards is out of form, let Hayes and Wright be the partnership and GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO GEL. Hayes and Richards had done it but Richards seems to have decided that he'd rather miss the sitters that Hayes lays on.
id play Hayes and Wright upfront gaianst Chesterfield. Wright scored last time he played and Hayes was excellent against Huddersfield.
I would'nt go as far as exellent but yes he had one of his better games. 3 strikers up front for me! (Hayes, Nardiello, Richards)
i thought Hayes had an excellent game, described by many Hudds fan as our "dangerman". His direct running and skill caused havoc in the Huddersfield defence, he was unlucky not to score, their keeper pulled off an excellent save. If we played 3 upfront wed be outnumbered in midfield and left exposed at the back because we have an attacking midifield especially now that Burns has gone. Wed be vunerable to the counter attack. When we have the ball we play with 4 strikers anyway, Shuker and Devaney usually join in, hence their excellent goalscoring records.
Theres the alternative, play Shuker or Devaney up front in place of Richards and play Mcparland on the right wing.
More than slightly blinkered unless of course you have a reason as to why all combinations have consistantly failed to prduce the goods. Not one of them has proved significantly better than BBB in goalscoring terms.
No time now to allow gelling time. We need to score goals in all of the next 6 to 9 games.
I concede that perhaps I would start with Hayes / Wright but I would not hold out too much hope that goals will regularly begin to flow.
Hayes..as good a football player he looks he is not a striker IMHO, needs a finisher at the side of him and we just don't have one.
Nardiello..not fit or not committed enough or indisciplined. Best finisher out of the lot but can he actually make 6x90 mins or even 70mins out of 9 games? I think not.
Richards..goalscoring record perverted by penalties. Misses too many sitters.
Wright..has looked dangerous but lacks discipline. Should have got a Hattrick at Chesterfield so maybe a start this Sat could get him on a roll.
Jarman..don't make me laugh.
BBB...god knows, has scored goals but is slow. Would not rule him out of a bit part yet.

Sorry.. But Conlon's scored a couple of penalties, the odd header from a corner, and the odd tap in. His scoring record is just as bad as the players that everyone is ripping apart, except he's lazier and slower.
Correct about the comparative scoring record Lazier than the naturally fitter Nardiello..GTF.
He remains an option.
