I was quite encouraged by our win. It's the sort of game we have failed to win on numerous occasions over the last five years (i'e. playing a crap team; have loads of chances to kill the game off and then concede in the last ten minutes). Despite having had to change the defence around in recent games we still have one of the best defensive records in this league; Wright has surely got to get a hatful one day; I like Hayes and Richards does alot of things well (don't start me on Nardiello!); Austin has played much better than I ever expected him to this season; McPhail, Howard and Burns give us good options in midfield (Kell could be OK as well); Colgan has given more cause for confidence recently; Devaney and Shuker can turn a match on their day. I reckon we can make second place with a bit of luck (think swansea are going to be difficult to catch)
Why not start you on Nardiello? if you prefer Richards then god help us...stil you do rate McPhail and Burns as well... biggest plodders at the club
Nardiello Nardiello, idle waste of space. Would rather berate burns for a poor pass than chase for the ball. That is not the attidude required by a team with promotion aspirations.
Neither is missing at least four good chances.. and from where I was looking it was Burns who was having a pop after playing another aimless ball in to the corner
Well Said Bright Red. You speak alot of sense. I think we have basis of a good team. The are in the main young players who will get better in time but unfortunateky due to their lack of years will produce inconsistent performances. Neil Austin is turning into a very solid defender, who is equally adept at Centre half as he is at full back.
RE: Neither is missing at least four good chances.. So you didn't see Nardiello stop running to turn around to have a go at Burns? Disgrace.
I'm more bothered at why another ale house player has got a contract He was right to have a pop at Burns..fecking ****
RE: Why not start you on Nardiello? Let's just say that I don't rate Nardiello. He's lightweight and lazy (how can any player deliberately run away from the line of a pass to make it look bad when he can't be bothered chasing it down?) There is always a chance that he will come up with something special to score and I'll cheer as loud as anyone but it doesn't happen that often. As a result he'll always be used as a sub. I hope he can prove me wrong but he hasn't so far.
RE: Why not start you on Nardiello? Nowt to do with only getting one game to prove owt then? When Rind O' Bells finest gets picked? Sorry, he runs about...
RE: Fair enough.. Burns is a decent player for his type at this level - gets about the field, disrupts the oppostion, can play some decent passes and gets the odd goal. The only thing that completely mystifies me is why he doesn't get penalised everytime he jumps to challenge for a header cos he always fouls the opposing player
I suppose Ritchie does watch him in training as well. Have you ever watched him in the pre-match warm-up? - it's hilarious, just watch him next game. He tries to avoid doing what all the others do (various delaying tactics used) and just likes to get the ball and either kick it in the empty net or smack it at a supporter behind the goal (he usually has a good laugh if he manages to hit someone). If he has a similar attitude in training it's not surprising he doesn't get many starts.
RE: Fair enough.. Both he and McPhail were not good - then again the managers 2nd half formation might have something to do with it
