We certainly will miss Howard. Leon may not be as good - but that does not make him a bad player either. When a player wants to go there is little point trying to hang on to him. I think things have now gone too far and if Davey does not go then Howard will. He is after all just a player - we have lost players in the past and will do so in the future but we are still here - and will be in the future. As with the games we play - We win some (hopefully) and we lose some. It is the same with players. Howard will go and we will move on without him.
The whole thing has been appallingly mismanaged. For 600k we have been mugged. Leon is an decent enough player but we will mistt Howard. From what I have heard there's another player moving in the other direction, hopefully Danny Webber.
That would make the situation a bit more palatable. I agree that we are little short changed at £600k but that is the price of delaying I suppose
We will miss a player of Howard's qualities. Leon is (just) okay in a show pony type way that is too much of a luxury in our position and with the lack of genuine firepower in front of him, but he's no Howard. It is criminal that we have:- 1) A threadbare squad in all positions except goalkeeper 2) No naturally left-sided players 3) No attacking threat whatsoever None of these are Howard's fault!
We have missed a player of Howards qualities for a long time now what difference will it make if he leaves?
its plain to see from yesterdays performance the best this year that there was problems in the dressing room.iF IT MEANS LOSING OUR BEST PLAYER toimppove team performances this as to be applauded and shows davey as the spunk to manage,no player is bigger than the team which as been the case since anfield ,i rate hawrd and wil be sorry to see him leave but it if its the benefit of theteam and financially for the club we must support cryne n co they are pulling the purse strings not us.Look at norwich who ave overspent and feeling the credit crunch,we were better than them,we ave to han in and we will climb the table ,lets not stoop to the level of the colchester fans who ave hounded out there loyal manager of ten years with the verbal abuse yesterday. we can turn the corner with some money spent on a goal getter
I agree about Anderson, but the thing is now, where are the goals from midfield coming form, i don't rate Leon if i'm been honest, J-C-R dont score too many, Colace i can't comment on, El Hamouir will he score many, onto our strikers know, well they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.
Very little - you miss the point I'm making though. In the thread below I've already said we've got to make the most of a pish poor situation in relation to Howard and 'sell' now but the main point I'm making is that there are at least three things far more fundamentally wrong with the playing strength at Oakwell at the moment and the focus ought to be on the poor management that has allowed that to come about.
Exile, I think you are right but, there is no one at the well to sort the problem out. Barry Taylor is merely a hanger on and a useless one at that. Don Rowing is merely a convenience and happend to be there at the time. P.C, in my opinion has not got the balls to walk into the well and tell Davey to fook off. Which leaves Davey with the power to talk the talk with the two usless directors and manipulate the whole "chebang"
I fear you're spot on there baskerville. It does seem that Davey can get away with murder - it's rare in a business that a manager could upset as many of his staff as SD seems to have done without coming under very close personal scrutiny and being kept on a tight rein. Could it be we're missing the Great Shep?!
