Am I reading this wrong? Or does it say we're using the current official site for the next 10 years?

No, you're not reading it right

You're saying the site will stay the same. The article says the site will be at "the cutting edge of online development" which means it will be anything but static.

i said does the article say that they will be using the current site? ie the site under the FLPTV/Perform/Football League Interactive banner. I never mentioned the design staying the same

you didn't make that clear at all

You asked if we'll be using the current site for the next 10 years and it's clear from the article that we won't as it will be developed.

    Ok sorry for any confusion

So Jay, did I read it right in that the official site will be staying under the management of the current lot for the next ten years?

    Thought so

That makes the barnsley one site even more intriguing. Why are there two barnsley sites coming out of oakwell if one isn't to replace the other?

    I've no idea

According to City Tyke Barnsley One is an independent site and Patrick Cryne hardly even knows this Mark Stokes bloke. Then is the very same thread he said that Mark Stokes has a desk at Oakwell! That seems very odd to me. I've never known an independent journalist given a desk at an institution that it is claimed they have no ties to.

You forgot that the main oakwell switchboard knows of mark stokes and will put you through to him

'the website guy' when you ask them to. Or at least they would. I really don't understand what is going on with it but it does interest me

    I must add

If BFC do employ Mark Stokes, I've no problem with that. If they admit to it. There's nowt wrong with wanting to put out information on the club that shows it in a good light. But I do like to know if I'm reading independent journalism or propaganda. I know what I'm getting on the official site, I know it would never report on anything that shows BFC in a bad light, I know some of it will be spin, but I still read it. I know that with The Chronicle I'm getting the opinion of an independent journalist, not the facts, but the opinion, so I read that. With Barnsley One I don't know if I'm getting fact, opinion, spin or propaganda, so I tend not to bother with it. I don't like having the wool pulled over my eyes and I've a feeling that is what is happening with that website.

    Agree with every word

I'm of the same opinion. If the site is club run then fine, its a good site to find out club information. If it is independent COMPLETLY then it's a good fan site. Unfortunatly the truth is as usual kept from us.
