I work int tarn centre so I see the tarn and tarn folk day in and day art. But I went to tarn on Sunday and it just seemed everyone was either as rough as bears arse or foreign. Then I started thinking I might be becoming one of them snob types.
the foreigners looked the most decent. Otherwise it semed I was shopping amongst a couple of hundred Wayne and Waynetta Slobs., and that might be doing an injustice to the Slob family.
No you're not, I had cause to go in Town yesterday and.......... oh my god! loads of baseball cap wearing, work shy, overweight young people, young lasses with prams escorted by tracksuited sullen faced boys (not deserving of the word men) the kids in the prams snot faced and bored silly, the pram tops awash with *** ash, and while I'm at it, how many people do you see now with a walking stick or just one crutch? some fiddling going on methinks, the town itself is not a pretty one the only businesses doing any decent trade are the charity shops and amusement arcade types. Anytime there is a concerted effort to improve the look of the Town, well, our dear old council lack the intelligence and/or imagination to act upon it. For the most part the folk of Barnsley are great, just the lowlife benefit seeking few bring it down.
When you go down town during the day 90 % of the people there are the unemployed and unemployable. I took my son down the last time i was over. The comment from him was. "They're all like those who sit in the park at home dad". Sad, really sad. I blame Maggy!
RE: When you go down town during the day Nothing to do with "Maggy" or any other Prime Minister either recent or in the past. Slobs will be slobs will be slobs - doesn't matter who is running the show. This obsession with the Conservative Party ruining places like Barnsley is well wide of the mark. The coal industry would have died anyway, sad though that is. We all wanted nice, clean gas central heating didn't we. Come and have a wander around towns like Aylesbury (where I live now) on any given day and you will see exactly the same scene, except that there is a bigger Asian population here. Huge, in fact! The lowlifes of Buckinghamshire can't go around blaming past Tory governments for their present difficulties. They only have themselves to blame for being low lifes, just like those in any other part of the country. I know that the British industrial base has been blown out of the water over the last 30 or 40 years but let's not blame the government for all of that. I have no time for ANY politicians to be honest, but they all had some part to play in that, without being EXCLUSIVELY responsible for it. Global markets drive commerce and industry, not incompetents in Whitehall. Govenment policies don't make the Waynes and Waynettas of this world shamble along the streets tossing their rubbish on the floor every five paces. Their upbringing and their breeding is to blame for that. They have no sense of responsibility, no idea of what is right and wrong. Doesn't matter if they are in Blaydon, Barnsley or Basildon. They are there, just the same and I'm afraid are breeding like brown rats in a sewer. God knows what this country is going to be like in the future..........
RE: When you go down town during the day I think you are wide of the mark, the Tory Party have big chunk of responsibility for creating this underclass culture and especially here in Barnsley!!! Yes it is a good thing we are not working down the pits anymore! But the Thatcher Government actively withheld funds from these areas and left us to rot! Unforgiveable!
It's a Monday thing. In Keighley with Mrs Finn yesterday & commented how many chavvy, near-retard in-bred types were queueing (to be fair, it was Morrisons) at the checkouts. It's Monday - benefit day; they collect their obviously well-deserved 'benefits' and stock up on White Lightning, tabs, pizzas and some ice-pops for the kids. And yes, I am very much a snob.
Super fred, you have just nicked my post. You're absolutly correct about Rotherham it's a fcking ***** hole. You need to be multi lingual to visit that place. Although I'm in Wath which is much part of Rotherham I always say that I'm from Barnsley. We Wathites generally lean towards your town rather than this fcking dump.
You're right, but so is he. It's an attitude thing. There are plenty of jobs out there, but too many people who just can't be arsed. It's easier picking up other people's money for imaginary injuries or pretend kids and sitting on your fat arse watching Jeremy Kyle all day. I despise them with a passion.
