One defeat and the doom mongers are out in force again. Yes, last night was very very disappointing, especially to lose again at home after seemingly getting the away form sorted at long last, but some people should take a reality check and look at the bigger picture. We've just picked up six points from a run of three very tough games in less than a week, two of which were away, and none of which we had Brian Howard available for. Anyone who wouldn't have taken that return straight after the cup semi would have needed their heads read. Three games of that maginitude (four including the cup semi) in such a short space of time at this stage of the season are going to be extremely draining, not just physically, but also mentally. I agree that Leon and Hassell looked lightweight, but this is not exactly our first choice midfield. Winning last night would have been great, but we still have three games left from which we realistically need a win or two draws to be absolutely safe (I think if we even avoid defeat against Leicester relegation is extremely unlikely). Keep the faith. Last night was a blow but hardly an unexpected one against a decent side.
You wanna try being at work here in Hull this morning. They are plotting trips to the San Siro - talk about getting ahead of themselves!
I could imagine that would be harsh. Trips to the San Siro?! About as ludicrous as the end of the world is nigh posts from some of our lot!
Aye....I said walking out that I felt sorry for you! I was amused by their chant of "FA Cup, and you fecked it up" - funny really, getting to the semi is deemed fecking it up.....at what stage did they **** it up then because I don't remember! I'd have taken 6 points from 9 a week ago, would probably have chosen PNE and Hull to take them against though. But I agree with the original poster.....3 points on Saturday and we are safe, it's wasn't a disaster last night (well, except for you and your fellow T'Humberside reds!) Thought we were the better side in the first half, they weren't in it until the dubious penalty....and did the ref leave his cards in the dressing room? How on earth did the linesman not see KO get elbowed in the face?
didn't expect much from last night so no not too worried. We'd all have snatched the offer of 6 from 9 this time last week.
No I'm not worried I think a point on Saturday would be enough. I'd like us to win to be sure tho'. Seen replays and it was a nailed on penno. Silly challenge, he was going nowhere, I thinkSouza panicked because he couldn't catch him. BTW Campbell looked very good last night. Thing is if Hull do go up (and lets face it they're the form team) Derby's new record is in danger.
Not sure it's really just "one defeat" There have been some pretty grim home matches to sit through lately. I think if you travelled to Liverpool; Watford or Preston, your outlook will be radically different to the folks that JUST attend the home games. There hasn't been an awful lot to cheer about lately (Chelsea apart) - including some pretty grim derby encounters. I have a season ticket and pay to watch the home fixtures - my mood tends to be affected more by what we do at Oakwell (rather the two recent away wins). I wouldn't say i was "distressed" though, just disappointed with recent performances. I did stay until the end last night....
D D W L L ? Home form since the victory over West Brom over 2 months ago. Will be distressed it we lose again on Saturday - it seems just as we are finding our away form the wheels are coming off at home
Will we be any less tired on Saturday? Admittedly I can't see Leicester moving the ball as quickly, sticking the boot in as much, frenziedly closing us down and outpacing our defenders though!
