    Thoughts?

As I understand it the the boy had been complaining about mental health problems to his parents but instead of getting him any help the mother and father bought the school boy a gun for Christmas and when (on the day of the shooting) they were called to the school to have a meeting regarding drawings the boy had drawn depicting a school shooting they didnt mention that they'd bought him a gun, in fact they ended they made an excuse to leave the meeting and refused to take their son home from school. On the same morning she messaged a man she was *ahem* special friends with that she thought her son my do "something dumb"

When breaking news reports came out of a school shooting at the school the mother texted her son saying something like 'dont do it's implying that she knew or suspected he was behind the attack.

Shortly after the attack they did a runner and we're found by police hiding in the basement of an industrial unit.

She's been convicted of manslaughter by allowing and enabling her son to carry out the attack. The father will be tried separately.

On the one one hand it could help to stop parents buying their kids guns and making them more culpable for what their kids do, on the other is it looking for a scapegoat. Thoughts?

I don't see how they can be legally ( at least that would be the case in the UK), he's over the age of criminal responsibility. They sound **** parents though, and if I were them I'd be feeling extremely guilty that I hadn't done more to try to prevent it.

I may be wrong but I think there was some issue with whether or not it was legal to have bought him a gun at that age and then whether by withholding the information that they believed he had a gun at school with him they prevented the school from stopping the attack. I'm not sure what the equivalent here would be, and employer standing by and watching an adult employee do something dangerous maybe?

In a country with as big a population as America , surely there must be other people who could stand as presidential candidates!?
