Last week I criticised the wonderful people at Jobcentre Plus in Newcastle East for giving me wholly inappropriate vacancies to apply for. Although I have not changed my opinion on how innappropriate they are and how soul-destroying the whole process is, I must state that my feelings towards the staff have changed. I no longer view them as malicious and incompetent, merely incompetent. I had wrongly felt that they had given me jobs which I was overqualified for to boost their own statistics. However I now see this was not the case as several employers have confirmed that I am in fact overqualified and they have no intention of giving me a job. So you see, Jobcentre Plus were actually helping me out, giving me extra time to search for a job that is suitable - either that or they're completely ****.
I was interviewing a bar manager once. He seemed like a right pillock so I told him he was overqualified to get rid of him. How many times has this happened so far?
RE: I was interviewing a bar manager once. Twice, fingers crossed for many more times though. They both asked why the salary hadn't put me off and why I wanted to move into office admin - told them that the jobs had been recommended by Jobcentre and that's all they needed to hear. Didn't get as far as interview with either thankfully.
