    How stupid were the takeaway?

    To take so many cheques for large amounts from one person ... surely they took a cheque gaurantee card? I bet not.

    They were even more bonkers for taking a cheque for £400 of food. Tesco wouldn't.

    You wouldn't take a cheque for £400 if you sold something to a stranger and just let them walk away with it would you? and if the answer is yes, I'll be round your house with a cheque book later ... name your price and I'll buy anything you've got of value in the house
