Now ,to get you in the right fram of my mind that day,i want you to think of Stainbro Low,worsboro cuttin,Chapletown hill north eldon st, i want you you to put thoss steep hills in your mind or any that you know are as steeep or steeper......this day i had to pick up a load of sand bags,i drove a leyland Hippo(put that in google and you will seeone) now i had with me 6 Korean service men,(did all the work)the one in charge could speak only pidgeon english. now on the Journey i had to go up this steep hill, but the difference was,no tarmac road,no kerbs,a hundred foot drop on either side, littered with Mines,ETC,,,,i set off back fully loaded ,then one in charge in the Cab..(me sargy,he said ,me in cab)its a good job too....the others were sat on top of the sand bags.......now this Hippo, had faulty brakes,if the vehicle was on tick over i lost air pressure,so i had to rev up to have brakes...so we approach this hill (CALLED LONG STOP HILL)i mis a gear,Disaster,i cant take my foot off the accelerator,to engae bottom gear,i cant reverse, the only thing to do is put sand bags under the wheels, can yo imagine a YORKY say put sand bags under the wheels,...when they could not talk english....suddenly it clicks..they put bags under the wheels, they hold me,,,,,,,and every one lives happily ever after.....just a min while i wipe the sweatoff..
    and have a swig,,,,,
