If we have an home game thats £30 why not try this: You all seem happy to pay £20/£25 - so why not chuck a crisp 20 pound note in a jar for every CAT A game. Come June you will have enough saved for a very reasonably priced season ticket, and you can then carry on each year to enable seasons tickets every year.

Alternatively, you could be just using it as a ******* excuse to have a moan on here with no real intention of going regardless of the price.

Its the mentality of paying £30 to watch a football match, someone mentioned it on here last night and l think they have a point. If someone goes to the game and has £35 in their back pocket when they set off they would gladly go into town drink 4 pints at £2.50 a throw and pay £25 to get into Oakwell, no moaning. They could go into town a hour after, drink 2 pints and pay £30 to get in but they dont want to do that. One of my mates on Saturday - "l'm not paying £30 to watch a football match" so he stayed in the pub at Wombwell, had a racing bet, 5 pints and a few football bets, by the time l had met back up with him at 6 after leaving him at dinner he had spent more than he would have if he had gone to the match.

In S.M's famous words "they would rather buy a new shirt for a night out" or something to that effect...

Let's be serious. Thirty quid to watch some blokes on twenty grand a month kick a ball for ninety minutes is not cheap no matter how you try to dress it up.

I have a season ticket. if I didn't I wouldn't attend many games at that price. There are a number of fellow season ticket holders on this forum who have said the price is too high. There is a number of fans from away clubs boycotting coming to oakwell as they feel the price is too high.

I do agree there will always be people using price as a reason not to attend but that covers a lot of other things not just football.

For me the issue is the price point has now gone over a limit which is deemed reasonable by many to pay for a game of football.

What's the point? Fowk are out of the habit of watching us then.

We need to keep 'em engaged. And saying to watch a football team you need to not go for a year is f.cking crazy.

What about fans who can't commit to every Saturday? Wouldn't you resent being ripped off because you're not free every Saturday?

I think the issue is that some people, probably at the younger end of the age range, think that everyone should just pay whatever it takes because football is their be all and end all - the only other thing they have to pay out for is beer and cigs. Other people have a full life, commitments, and watching football is only a small part of that. So they are much more price sensitive and have a threshold, beyond which they simply cannot justify paying the price to their wifes / partners and families when they have so many other much more important things to spend their money on.

I am like a lot of people on here - ST holder, but would not pay the match day prices if I wasn't.

I have a mate who is not a big earner who turned up to both games last week and paid match day prices - I don't know how he did it - I am pretty certain I wouldn't have.
