Our next win will equal the sum total of wins during the whole of our last season in this league.

If we won our next 3 games, (big "if" I know) taking us up to the halfway point, we would equal the amount of points accrued in the whole of that season.

Can't complain at that sort of progress

Can't argue with that , of the players we had in our last stint , I reckon only Brian Howard and the Ginger Prince would be guaranteed starters now .

Would Howard start though? The obvious person for him to replace is Conor, and I'm not sure Howard was better. The two of them in central midfield maybe, but we'd probably want to go 4-5-1 as Howard wasn't the greatest defender. Maybe put him on the left instead of Hammill?

I don't think anyone is guaranteed a start, which is saying something in itself. However, if we took the current squad, and added Howard, Butterfield, Bobby, Darren Moore, Craig Davies and Vaz Te, that would be enough experience, flair and strength in depth to see us promoted. If I was being very greedy I'd add Steele or Muller as a back-up 'keeper. And possibly John Stones, if he asked nicely.

Dont think Moore would keep Angus out as much I loved the big man. Yiadom and Bobby are like for like but Andy has that edge with pace. I'm totally happy with how this club has progressed within 3 years. Its a total makeover. Raked out the old rubbish and its like weve used our time in League One with perfect effect. I can see why local clubs are envious of our setup and if we beat Wednesday tonight thatll be the proof that will prove weve finally put the dark days behind us.

Moore was just such a great influence to have around the place, both on the field and off by all accounts. Whilst I'm also ecstatic with the way things are progressing, our squad is still too thin to realistically challenge the top 6 imho. Imagine if we'd been able to bring on a Moore-type figure to steady the ship against Forest. No we'd have shipped 5 goals.

The important thing is we don't take our foot off the gas once we reach these targets. We've had quite a few seasons that have had contrasting halves.

I'd like to be talking about this team in years to come as one of the best, just like me do with teams from other eras.
