And an exceptional second goal. Brilliant flowing football. We perhaps didn't play as well as we had done the previous two home matches, but it's not surprising considering the heat, and this time we won. Good, solid performances throughout the team though, but special mention to Jim O'Brien who at long last is looking like a proper player. The way he took down the ball and crossed it in for the second goal was superb. Well played Reds.
Thought JOB grew in confidence after his part in the 2nd goal, agree he is playing well at the moment
Funny isn't it I thought it was Butterfields worst performce in recent games seemed a bit off the pace not saying he was poor just not as good as usual. No one had a bad game though our second goal was real quality. Special mention also to Steele a save he made just after our 2nd was world class. Deserved the win today despite being not as good as in some of our recent Draws
We got more comfortable after the 1st goal I think had we not won the penalty, we'd have had to win ugly. Feel we missed Perkins in midfield with a bit of fight about him, because by the high standard Butterfield has set for himself, he didn't have a good game. After the first goal though, I thinhk we cruised, despite the odd scare.
Agree with all of that Jay. O'Brien was my MOM today but with getting both goals Gray was always going to get it. Still top class performances through the whole team and to think we have half the squad out injured. Hill is working wonders on the players.
Thought Butterfield looked a little tired today but I wasn't surprised by that - he put in a fantastic shift on Tuesday night. 7 games unbeaten, who would have thought that after the game against Boro back in August?
admittedly it wasn't Butterfields best game, but his effort wasn't lacking. It's heartwarming to see a team of players all putting a shift in. Anyway, as Farnham said, nobody played badly. UTR!
