In this day and age It's rare for a club's benefactor to be so willing to leave the administration and playing side to the respective individuals. You only have to look at the recent problems at both Newcastle & West Ham to appreciate Mr Cryne's style of delegation.
You could say that this is the perfect man to be in charge Without knowing exactly what is financial commitment has been or wil be in the future, he is clearly a rich man with the interests of HIS football team at heart. He is a Barnsley fan just like the rest of us, not one of these get rich quick merchants who are more likely to leave at any moment than stay to the end of the season. I think Patrick will stay for a long time provided things don't turn ugly - by that I mean that people don't start making unreasonable demands on him or laying unreasonable blame at his feet if things don't go quite right. We should be just grateful to have such a man on board - thank you Mr Cryne and I hope you stay involved for a long time.
Sounds like it's more strikers on the way Ignoring the fact that we've already got 7. A left footed left back or a decent left sided midfielder (El Haimour isn't up to it I'm afraid) or a midfielder who can score goals would be more valuable to the team in my opinion. If we can get rid of a couple of strikers (Odejayi and Mostto) then by all means bring one in, but if we just bring in another without first selling then we're wasting hundreds of thousands pounds on players wages who will never get a game and a line has to be drawn somewhere. If Mr Cryne is generous enough to finance transfer fees then I'm very grateful to him, but I don't want the club to be in the position of relying on a financial benefactor to pay the weekly expenses. That leaves us in a very perilous position. If that means going with what we've got and not adding to the already large batch of strikers then so be it.
Mostto for god sake, put him and us out of our misery and get him a ticket back to Peru. Says it all when a bairn and a recovering cripple get on the pitch on Saturday before him.
I suppose it all depends on what messrs Cryne & Davey see as our priorities. If they believe they can bring in a forward or two that would improve the team, is the risk of being left with 9 strikers on the books worth it? Or would they prioritise moving out players who won't feature as first team regulars first? If they were to do this, do they run the risk of missing out on their prefered targets? Personally, I don't see that many changes taking place this month. If any new faces were to come in, my opinion is that they're more likely to be from the continent, rather than the domestic market.
strikers on the books, am right in saying only hume will be still contracted to the club at the end of the season
