I am not surprised by the figures. The more money Premiership clubs get the higher the wage bill gets. The figures paid at some clubs are obscene. I think the share of money slushing around in the top clubs should be shared throughout the game and not paying players mega-millions
I took part in that survey and the findings pretty much reflect what I said. Didn't know it had anything to do with the Sun though, I regularly submit surveys for the Football Fans Census.
Comparing costs Sky package £43.50 per month is £522 per year.</p> Average ticket price in premiership £26.50 x 19 home games = £503.50, not to mention on costs and away trips.</p> Given you get to watch a lot more games for your money from sky, then unless you are a loyal fan and need the atmosphere of a live game then I can see why attendances are dropping. Fans will increasingly become selective in the games they go and watch.</p>
