A draw was a reasonable result if viewed in context. Town coming off several consecutive defeats, Barnsley in form having clobbered Birmingham the previous week. Moreover, contrary to what is written in many of the comments here, Barnsley have some very decent players at this level notably Mellis, the two forwards, and Stones. It is arrogant and erroneous in my view to dismiss Barnsley as a weak side. Under their current manager they are 'punching above their weight' and a little more objectivity amongst us fans would not go amiss.
Very accurate for our current form, however i'm still not convinced we'll be consistent into the new year, purely because I always feel we can be, and then never do. That's why it's imperitive to pick up as many points before chrismas as possible. I don't agree however that a draw was a reasonable result. I felt Ipswich offered very little going forward, other than a few chances which drifted off target (the one main opportunitiy produced a great save from Alnwick), and I feel that on another day, we could have been out of sight. I think had we not conceeded so early on, Ipswich's back line wouldn't have dropped so deep, and I feel we may have exploited space behind their defence more as we did against Birmingham.
