Throughout the season we played with 4 midfielders, 2 as wingers. The midfield of JCR and Devaney as wingmen and Colace and Anderson in the centre was in my opinion the best. This midfield throughout the season has created the forwards a host of chances but we didn't have the strikers to finish them. We have been crying out for a year for strikers to convert the chances. Simon signs 2 strikers who sound as if they can convert chances. Then signs a winger from Liverpool. Then decides after finally signing a decent striker or two to change the system that was creating chances and stop using wingers. As a result we stop creating as many chances. As a result the strikers we signed to put away the chances are now starved....of chances. So, sign a winger and stop using him as a winger. Stop playing our best player in his best position as a winger and use him deeper in midfield leaving him completely ineffective. Taking away any sort of attacking threat we had. ????????????????????????????????????????????? I have sat on the fence about Simon for a long time. Not criticised but not praised. But I do believe he is running out of ideas. I think this post, as confusing as it reads is a good indication of Simon's ideas at this time. I hope he proves me wrong but I see us in deep trouble. And that comes from an optimist. PAOLO
Yep he`s turning JCR into an average, ineffective player. We should have took the million while it was on offer.
