I heard it was Brian Howard but I wouldn't say he was a reliable source. I can't see it being Hammill or Butterfield.
Re: Micky Butler... he'll be quite old now I guess. I've heard Howard has wanted to come back for a while now. Could be Butterfield wanting a loan spell as he's not even getting on the bench at Norwich. http://www.barnsley.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=285659
I'm pretty sure when I heard the interview Hill implied it was someone who had played under him at Barnsley who was regretting having left
Well, who has left under their own free will during keith's tenure, rather that being shown the door? Shackell, Butterfield, Vaz Te? Can't be any of them, has to be an un-contracted player or one who would be made available and I would suggest it is someone before his time. If there is any substance at all in this, Brian Howard is my guess, desperately trying to salvage some kind of career and earn a living.
To be honest I'm not sure he said they actually wanted to come back, just that he had spoken to a former player who implied he regretted leaving and missed working under Hill. I immediately thought of Butterfield. But I didn't read much in to it. If you spoke to your former boss wouldn't you say how much your missing working with him? I will add it was quite a while since the interview and my recollection could be completely wrong! But I definitely thought Keith was suggesting it was someone who had been part of his set-up
Don't think he would have been begging to go back to 2k* a week though! Plus we would have to buy him back. I suspect it was a playful Keith-ism. *Or whatever he was on, befoor tha starts Hemsworth!
