England lost the international tri-series against Jamaica 2-1 after the hosts secured a 57-47 victory in the final match in Kingston. The Sunshine Girls won the opener 56-47, but Anna Mayes' side drew the series level on Sunday, in a match that was ended early by a power cut. The decider was poised at 37-37 going into the final quarter. But a quick turnover from Jamaica put them ahead and they rallied to take the game by 10 points. England suffered a similar fate at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the summer, when Jamaica pulled ahead in the dying minutes to win 52-48 and take the bronze medal. The international series starts the countdown to the World Cup in Sydney in August. England are currently ranked third in the world, one place above Jamaica.
