That idiot of a referee, Trevor Kettle has been responsible for Accrington Stanley's failure to League One.

No but he blew for half time as the ball was about to cross the line.

Thing is he'll not have any action taken against him and if Accringtons manager says anything about it he'll get in bother, maybe even a touchline ban. Its farcical, especially when as you say, its cost them massively.

Maybe football should follow rugby, and the half ends after the whistle, when the ball goes out of play.

Or just only let the ref blow for HT after the ball goes out.

I dont think the normal routine needs changing, but it has to be implied sensibly which was obviously not even close to being the case in that particular game. Personally if I were Accrington I'd be looking for accountability.

He directly contributed to them dropping 2 points with an atrocious decision. So yeh, I'd say it is.

He cost them 2 points by blowing for half time as the ball was flying into the net, a decision criticised by every single person on the planet and one that frankly cannot be described as an innocent mistake but an actual deliberate decision made by a man who thinks he is above footbal

Lets not forget his catalogue of monumental errors down the years. The guy is a farce and should never be allowed to take charge of a game again.

They wouldn't necessarily have gone up if they'd scored that goal though. Granted they'd have had a better chance but everything else from that point would have been different. They might have even lost that match 2-1

Agreed, it's not an opinion, it's a fact. A game cannot be extended beyond the allocated time except for a penalty.

Which leads me to the next question. The ref extends a game to allow a penalty to be taken. The pen is taken and the keeper gets his hands to it, but it spins and bobbles agonisingly over the line. Does it count?

But how can a referee without looking at his watch (kettle didn't) claim to know the exact millisecond that a game ends? He can't. Not only that but FIFA advice to referees states the game should be ended when in the neutral zone to avoid this exact thing.

Kettle is nothing but an arse.
