We`re an average 3rd division club. Been watching the reds home and away, live and recorded for the best part of 60 odd years and we`re back full circle when I first started an average 3rd division club.
Rich Tea got us promoted from this league with a team that wasn't particularly good, but if this lot get promoted it will trump that. Promotion will be another rebuild as so few of this lot are good enough to keep us up there.
come on we are bang average in a poor division. A good team would have been 4 up in the first 12 minutes.
And yet we are 5th, Second highest goal scorers and have the 5th best defence If we are bang average a lot more than half the teams are below average.
Yes I agree with you it’s a very poor league with not one good consistent team in it and being bang average like us with a glimmer of talent upfront is enough to get you in contention.
Never thought I’d say it but please god let McCart be fit for Saturday cos watching our back line and goalie tonight was like watching the keystone cops.
Maybe, we wouldn’t have presented a ‘good team’ with those same chances. Who knows. We won, enjoy the result if not the game.
5th most consistent team then at this point, which I guess makes us a bit better than 'bang average'.
I think if we fail to go up and all our best players leaves in the summer then you'll see what 'bang average' look like next season. I think we have some good players(Individually) but are not a good team.. too many tippy-tappys and nowhere near enough 'muck n bullets.. our balance is poor (recruitment team)
My first season was 66-67 and we finished in our worst ever League position 16th 4th division , year after we were promoted, so not quite full circle for me
I'd be tempted to try mccart and pines in a back four,Jordan reverting to rwb and adding some bite in midfield ala Josh scowen type of player. Defence starts in midfield for me and the team need to take the pressure off the defence. So Kane,Connell and a Josh scowen type would be ace.
nope just makes the others very poor. All of us with eyes can see we are an average team with a bit of spark and pace upfront that poor teams struggle to cope with.
we will see what poor looks like when / if that happens. Agree about the good players not a good team.
Id love to know how you define something 5th out of 24 as average the Median average would be 12th or 13th and the Mean average would be 35 points which is Orient in 10th No matter how you spin it we are above average for a League 1 team this season.
I think we have more points than this time last year so we must have been less than bang average then.
And all of us with eyes and a little common sense can see that after 26 games, we're 5th in the table, 4 points from top with a game in hand. Yeah we're not playing well 90 mins in each game but take a balanced view an that.
