I'm sure Wilson has been fair with his decisions on Hassell. Probably just too injury prone and past it now
According to some on here he has been victimised by Hill then Flicker and now Wilson. Can these people just accept what some of us on here can clearly see............he just aint good enough..........principally because he hasn't got the legs now. He's been a good servant for the club but so have dozens maybe hundreds of other players
Or Flitcroft and hill were **** and have left bobby unfit after totally ignoring him. Give him a pre season and then make a decision
to be fair he was a very capable player for us until around 2 years ago, and it seems clear that Hill had a big problem with him that Flicker continued Maybe SuperTyke has a point - would like to see him as a player-coach
Heard today he's definately not being offered a new contract and the retained list will be released on tuesday. The club have said middle of next week in press interviews but it looks like being slightly earlier.
Did I imagine it, sure I saw a retained list from a mate who used to work at Oakwell. He put it on Facebook before taking it off. Was a photo of a sheet of paper. Who was it who Bobby played against in midfield, best player on the pitch for us but was taken off, maybe sent off but can't remember?
Is this 'retained list' a fairly new phenomenon? I'd never heard the term until a few years ago and now it seems like it's an actual requirement for every club. Bobby is definitely gone, today's cameo wasn't unexpected and was obviously just a goodbye gesture. I think he's a top bloke but being completely objective he probably shouldn't have been given another years contract, although that would have been harsh on him to miss a tenth year. Hope he gets a good turnout for the testimonial, anyone know when it is?
He looked good when he did finally get the last 20 mins today, after all the pay cuts he's took for the club he deserves his place at the club. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's been criminally under used over the past 3 seasons but at his age & with his injury record it probably is time for him to go. He should've definitely played more though. I've only seen him 3 times this season, he was the best player against Leeds, one of the best against Derby / Bolton (can't remember who it was) & did ok today. He was more than capable of playing at this level
Hope he is kept on in some capacity, playing days are behind him, and I`m only saying that cos he aint got a full season in him and we cant keep the older players and bring youth through. Although I will believe the youth angle when I see it, not when its good for me to hear. Lip service applied to this on a seasonal basis since PC walked into the club.
