Why did he take credit cards to a place where he cannot draw out money ? Terrible what happened and hopefully the Barstewards will get caught somehow. The world is getting worse for people stealing and hurting others.

Festival season is when they get "their business" done.

I suspect the spending in the shops late August early September goes through the roof in Scouserville.

    Really Unfortunate

Been to a lot of festivals and never had it happen. Is he in the yellow campsite ? If he is he should move out to green, lot better crowd out there. Can still enjoy teh schenanegans in yellow but have everything nice and safe.

Would advise him to sleep with his cash, phone etc and keep the tent looking messy so that it's hard for anyone to find anything, mad but works.

You can camp anywhere on early bird I think ...

... but he's probably in Yellow, gets well rough as teh weekedn goes on, he will have no probs moving if he can be bothered and it might be more than worthwhile.

That happened to me at the Reading Festival in 1995

And proper sick I felt about it.

It isn't at all nice to think of some stranger picking through your stuff as you sleep - I had trouble sleeping for the remainder of the gig, particularly as I was the only person in a tent by themselves.

It's amazingly common, and you do need to sleep with your money, watch, phone etc. at the bottom of your sleeping bag. I made it easy for them, emptying my pocket into a pile at the foot of my bed - pure naivety. Like so many of life's lessons, learned the hard way!!

Never mind, tell him, it isn't like anyone was hurt or anything, just write it off to experience (though if you have money cover on your household policy you may well have a claim, remember).

    Don't worry.

    Money can be replaced.
It's not nice to be robbed ... but it's not the end of the world.

I'd be worried if your daughter turns up on Monday with her hair full of matted student spoff & your son is walking like the Tongan National Rugby Team have been through him.
