Used to think he was fantastic now I'm getting sick to the back teeth of the lovely person He is so laid back I'm surprised he manages to find the enthusiasm to tie his boot laces Absolutely fecking bone idle yesterday
He seems to be on easy street. Why can't he motivate himself or why can't the manager motivate him. He still has the ability no doubts. But how much of his effectiveness was being part of a midfield pair with Brian Howard?
because with howard he was allowed to sit and just play, now davey thinks he's a playmaker and in that role he can't lace howard's boots
RE: Bit like we are with you James. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that you didn't go yesterday
I will probably get lynched on here... but we are missing a fit, motivated and committed Brian Howard. The one we had last season.
agree, but i get told to move on cos he's gone which is right, but he needs replacing, but we won't get anyone near as good for 500k
RE: I will probably get lynched on here... Said this when he left but people were to shortsighted and were only interested in who he had gone to. We have no one from midfield who will get a goal, in fact we have no one who will even get in the box. Fact...
monk good point, midfielders need to get past the forwards to move the opposition midfield and defence around, now howard's gone who does it?
No one.. I think SD was hoping that he could use JCR in that role but he is too different a player for me.
RE: No one.. JCR will not break into the box like Howard to get on the end of crosses. Although when he leaves the creativity in the team is zero.
I am already afraid... Because if you think that Howard was a creative midfielder, you have never seen one.
So Frustrating Watching Him Trying To Shoot How many off target attempts does he have in a game? How many tame efforts on goal, generally straight at the keeper does he have every match? I'd not bet on him scoring past the Ponty End guy with the goalie gloves on. He's a pussy as well when going in for challengers, like he's scared of getting injured again. He needs to get over it, as that's the risk you take.
RE: What was he then? He was a selfish, self important, failed striker. Creating for other people was the last thing on his mind. As a captain, he was abject. Everyone else was to blame but him when anything went wrong. Now of course, Davey is trying (and to certain extent succeeding) to turn JCR into a similar kind of player. He cant see that when Howard left, our midfield improved for a little while because we weren't having to play everything through just one player. Now he has given that role to JCR and we are doing the same things again and it isn't working again. We need to have more than one option. If we do everything through one player, all the opposition have to do is stop him playing and we don't have an alternative plan. Just my opinion of course.
