Very good player, maybe didn't show his best at Oakwell, but he played 40 odd games at Bolton I think, was then signed by another Premier League club in Fulham, and is a regular at international level. And Iran aren't that bad a side believe ot or not.

'Will get us goals' 'would take him over Adam any day.

Seriously? He showed no signs of scoring last time round and missed a sitter against Forest. Charlie Adam for me, we don't need any more Defensive Midfielder's, we have enough already!

    I'd take Adam over him

It's obvious Andranik wasn't fully fit last season - both Bolton and Fulham fans gave him rave reviews. But Adam has more goals than him, and is much different to De Silva and Colace. I'd only get Andranik back if De Silva was on his way, I think they're very similar.

I agree with you mostly. Think he has got alot more to offer than what we saw last season, but if i was going to choose between him and adam i would go for adam.

I admire your belief on him but i honestly can't agree with any of your comments about him. Yes the away form did improve last season but the 3 Midfielders - Anderson, Colace and Andranik just got in each other's way and it became too congested in the middle. That's not down to any of those players but the Manager. He say's he going to play a 4-4-2 this season so who would drop out? Andranik wouldn't come to sit on bench, doubt he'll drop Anderson as we've just turned down bids for him and Colace is a consistent performer in breaking up the play. I say; stay well clear of him and use the money on somewhere where we need improving i.e. Goals from Midfield - Charlie Adam for instance. Would be a steal at 500k for me and i just hope the rumours that circled about him today with what Davey has said are true. Also 'Loko the Tyke' it was said he refused to come off the bench with 10 minutes to go at Plymouth - our club doesn't need performers like that.

I've always admired him and think he would be a decent signing

But when he's fully fit, and at his best, he's too good for the championship imho. Could see him coming back on loan, and if he's fitter than last season, he'd do a job for us.

    On this assessment

Your saying we do not need another central midfielder then? Wheres the goals coming from?

We need quality throughout and if that means leaving favourites on the bench then so be it, whether it be Anderson, Colace or new signings.

By the way - Im not keen on andranik coming back either.

I agree... quality signing didn't show his best here, MOM & superb at home against Forrest.

Showed glimpses of the player he can be i.e. broke up oppostions attacks, very creative and broke forward well, and could have scored a couple including penalty........ which he won..... but JCR stood up and missed! the lad was fuming! Good to see passion!

He rarely started for Bolton and one game he did he bagged a brace..... vs wigan i think? He can also play on the wing, I wouldn't describe him as a defensive midfielder more a versitile alround midfielder... he can defend, create in either central or wide positions

It was the most unprofessional thing I've seen at Oakwell...

....a grown man stamping his feet because he couldn't take a penalty?

    RE: Superb against Forest?

You mean the match when he cost us 2 points by putting JCR off a penalty that would have made it 2-0?
Most pathetic behaviour I've ever seen at Oakwell.
No more than another average defensive midfielder for me. Not the worst player I've seen but not the kind of attacking midfielder with goals in his locker that we are crying out for. Adam would be a far better signing.

He didn't have any match fitness when he arrived.

Just came back from injury and hadn't played for months. Played in that ***** three centre midfielders formation too. Wouldn't mind seeing him back.

Although, I've seen Charlie Adam once and I've made my mind up he's world class.

    To be honest

I saw very little from him last season that suggested he was better than Anderson or Colace and nor do I think he's miles better than Butterfield. I'd rather try and sign someone else who will significantly improve the squad.

I've not seen Adam, so I can't judge him. However I think Andranik would be an excellent signing, having played at Premier level in this country.

disagree entirely.... good to see passion, he single handedly won pen & should have taken it FACT

Did he put JCR off, we will never know.... But he wasn't responsible for JCR's penalty misses earlier in the season, or his performance that day.... JCR was superb for us last year but looked completely out of sorts that day. He looked fatigued, short of comfidence, frustrated and I for one wasn't confident he would score form the spot, however, andranik was brimming with confidence that game and it was his hard work and endevour that won the penalty. So for me their was no questio, he should have taken it. As for the aftermath, good to see passion from him he almost lost it but gathered him self and went back to jcr to pat him on the back........
