and if I were Charlton I'd be asking for more money now. That is what comes of f.u;cking about in the transfer market. No one at Oakwell has any idea about how to get business done in football, just as culpable as the manager in my eyes. No Chairman, no board, no clue.

    See my post last night

Portsmouth are in the same position, currently undergoing a takeover. you'll notice crouch went for 9 million a couple of weeks ago. No embargo there.

Charlton have never mentioned a transfer embargo on the internet or in the press, the only person i've seen mention one is simon 'players will be dropped' davey and their manager says that we havent offered enough money.

Is it entirely down to the manager

to get a player signed for Barnsley then? Is he sweeping the changing room floors as well as washing the kit?

RE: Is it entirely down to the manager

It is down to the manager thats doing the press conference to understand the situation.

If he does - then its up to him not to try and pull the wool over peoples eyes.

If he doesnt - then he shouldnt be the manager.

Charlton Athletic are not under a transfer embargo ffs. They have let players go. They have turned bids down for players. They have signed players. They have stated we have not offered enough money for Gray. They have stated they are happy for Gray to play the full season at The Valley. They have cup tied a player that we could have insisted didnt play.

Davey has said that the Gray deal is signed sealed and delivered, something that is completely untrue. Either he is lieing or is being lied to. Either scenario means he should not be at the helm of this team.

    It's a farce

So far, we've had "problems" with: Hammill; Thompson; Hallfredsson & Gray. Pretty much ANYONE we try to sign. Also, we had the protracted signing of Colace last season.

Yet, according to SD, none of them were of "our making". Go figure...
